Privacy Policy

NoirPanther mobile application, the website noirpanther.kuvshinov.in and the public demo server · Effective date: 19 September 2026

In short: NoirPanther does not collect, store or share your personal data. The app has no analytics, advertising or tracking code and talks only to the servers that you add yourself. We have no access to your library, your servers or your reading history.

1. Who we are

NoirPanther is developed by Ivan Kuvshinov, an individual developer based in Portugal (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question write to ivan@kuvshinov.in. Where data protection law applies to the limited processing described below, Ivan Kuvshinov is the data controller.

2. The application

2.1 Data that stays on your device

To work, the app keeps the following on your device only. None of it is sent to us.

Removing the app deletes this data from the device.

2.2 Data exchanged with your servers

NoirPanther is a client for self-hosted media servers. When you add a server, the app communicates directly with that server: it signs you in, loads your library and covers, downloads books, and synchronises reading progress, bookmarks and similar data. These servers are operated by you or by a third party you have chosen — not by us. We cannot see this traffic, and the privacy practices of a server are the responsibility of whoever runs it.

2.3 What the app does not do

The app uses network access (to reach your servers) and file access (to import EPUB files and to share a book file when you ask it to). On iOS, the home and lock-screen widget reads the list of books in progress from data stored on the device.

2.4 App stores

The app is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Apple and Google may process data about downloads, purchases and — if you have opted in on your device — diagnostics, under their own privacy policies. We may see only aggregated, anonymous statistics in the store developer consoles.

3. The public demo server

The demo server at demo.noirpanther.kuvshinov.in is provided so that you can try the app. It uses a shared demo account, so please do not enter any personal data there. Reading progress of the demo account is reset regularly. Like any web server, it keeps technical access logs (IP address, time, requested address, client software) for up to 30 days for security and troubleshooting. The server is hosted in Germany.

4. This website

The website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising, and does not load resources from third-party domains. The web server keeps technical access logs for up to 30 days, as described above.

If you write to us through the contact form or by email, we receive your name, email address and message and use them only to reply to you. The IP address the form was sent from is included in the message we receive and appears in the web-server log; we use it only to stop abuse of the form, and it is not used to identify or profile you. Messages are delivered to our mailbox on a mail server we operate ourselves in Germany and are kept for as long as needed to handle your request, and no longer than two years. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering requests you send us.

5. Children

NoirPanther is a general-purpose reading app and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children.

6. Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another jurisdiction with similar laws, you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Portugal — the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, CNPD). In practice the only personal data we may hold is the correspondence you sent us; to exercise your rights write to ivan@kuvshinov.in.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date. Material changes affecting the app will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
